Two shootings occurred in the neighborhood on Sunday, including using an assault rifle that injured a young woman.
A witness told police that a young man double parked a vehicle at a shopping center on the 200 block of Orizaba Avenue. The man then exited the driver’s side and began firing an assault rifle toward the Mikey's Market and Liquor. Afterward, he drove off.

A 24-year-old woman suffered a non-life threatening gunshot to the leg and the building was damage by the gunfire, according to police.
At 7 a.m. that day, a shooting occurred several blocks away on the 100 block of Sadowa Street.
A 42-year-old man reported hearing a gunshot when he was opening his garage door. He ran outside and saw a young man pointing a gun at him while getting into a vehicle. The man drove off.
Security camera footage reviewed by Taraval Station officers showed the suspect trying to enter the residence. Officers also located a fired cartridge casing nearby. A window was shattered by the bullet.
