Comix Experience Outpost, the longtime purveyor of superhero stories and more in Ingleside, has a plan for continuing providing pulps to its loyal customers during the shelter-in-place order: free shipping for orders over $20 and curbside pickup.
The comic ship, which has a sister store on Divisadero Street, sent out an email newsletter on Tuesday, March 17, to notify its customers that it’s still in business.
“While we’ve always offered shipping, for at least until April 7th, we’re going to make it free for all orders over $20,” the comic shop’s newsletter stated. “We don’t have a website with all of our inventory online, but we do have a modest online store built around our Graphic Novel Clubs which you can find here: https://squareup.com/store/comix-experience/.”
Nick Sousanis, who teaches Comics Studies as an Assistant Professor at San Francisco State University, implored the comics-reading public to continue to support Comix Experience Outpost.
“Comix Experience welcomed me as a comics author before I moved here,” Sousanis said. “Brian [Hibbs] and co. have been an indispensable resource for me and my students as a comics-teaching professor, and my whole family has been made to feel at home. We will dearly miss our weekly visits to the comics shop. Support them in this difficult time!”
A particular good way to support the shop is to join its adult or kids graphic novel clubs and buy a gift certificate.
