The officers at Ingleside Station are now collecting food donations for the city's animal shelter.
The San Francisco Police Department's Ingleside Station is collecting donations of food for the city's shelter animals.
After completing a drive collecting towels and blankets for San Francisco Animal Care & Control earlier this month, the Station announced in an email that it is now collecting food.
"SFACC informed us that because of the overwhelming and generous response from those in our community, the need for towels has been met, and they do not require any more towel donations at this time," the announcement said. "S.F.A.C.C. wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community."
Ingleside Station is now collecting dry, wet, bagged and canned food items for shelter animals. It is requested that the items be new, not expired and require no refrigeration.
The food donations may be dropped off at the San Francisco Police Department's Ingleside Station, located in Balboa Park at 1 Sgt. John V. Young Lane.
