A man suspected of multiple bank robberies — including one in Ingleside — is in federal custody.

James Michael Garrison, 62, is accused of robbing Rohnert Park's Westamerica Bank twice along with the Wells Fargo on Ocean Avenue, Rohnert Park authorities announced last week.

In a Dec. 5 robbery, he told the teller he was armed and threatened violence unless he was given money. Police officers, using surveillance footage, later located clothing that appeared to be worn during the robbery in a nearby dumpster.

Around that same time, KTVU reported, the San Francisco Police Department shared information regarding the bank robbery at Ocean and Brighton avenues. The suspects got away with $211 and carjacked a ride-share driver's Lexus using a replica firearm. Images of the suspect in the incidents appeared to match.

The second Westamerica Bank robbery with the same M.O. and outfit occurred on Jan. 2. The suspect absconded with over $13,000 from all three banks.

On Jan. 3, San Francisco police located Garrison and arrested him. He is in the custody of the FBI.
