Community nonprofits, homeowners associations and Recreation and Parks Department all have egg hunts lined up for Saturday and Sunday.
Minnie and Lovie Ward Recreation Center will host the OMI Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt this Saturday where thousands of eggs will be hidden for neighborhood children to uncover.
There will also be 20 or so special Golden Eggs for the taking, according to event co-organizer and OMI Cultural Participation Project Executive Director Maurice Rivers.
“Last year it was nowhere near where we wanted it to be because of COVID-19 so we just did what we could,” Rivers said. “This year, we can actually have the kids running around and actually looking for eggs.”
The event is sponsored by the OMI Cultural Participation Project, Ocean Incubators, OMI Community Collaborative, the OMI Family Resource Center and Meta.

The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department’s annual Eggstravaganza will be at Crocker Amazon Park on Saturday featuring egg hunts, carnival rides, entertainment, the San Francisco Public Library’s Bookmobile, food trucks and more.

The New Mission Terrace Improvement Association Easter Egg Hunt returns after a COVID-19 induced hiatus at Balboa Park.
