Volunteers spent their morning wrapping red bows on Ocean Avenue’s palm trees, and decorating parking meters with red and gold ribbons.
In other news, Ocean Avenue Revitalization Collaborative, who put the street decorating project together, will soon be undergoing some structural changes. Dolly Sithounnolat, OARC’s project manager, said the trio of local groups she works closely with will be a bit more on their own from now on.

“In the next fiscal year, Excelsior Action Group/OARC/Portola Neighborhood Steering Committee will negotiate their own grants,” Sithounnolat said via e-mail.
Sithounnolat said EAG is currently interviewing candidates for its executive director position, while OARC is funded through June 30.
